PAST PRESENTATIONS
Ellen is passionate about helping families with complex situations plan for the future. She believes that each family has unique needs, and their estate plan should be customized to meet those needs. Ellen started the firm in 2015, to provide broad estate planning services in the California Bay Area with a subfocus in special needs planning. Many families need “parenting when you’re gone,” and she helps them put together a team of professionals and family members to provide additional financial and care management and support.

Dr. Tracy Bennett is a screen safety expert who teaches us how to deeply reconnect with our lives and those we love. Preventing digital injury instead of just treating it. She is founder and CEO of Get Kids Internet Safe (GKIS) and author of Screen Time in the Mean Time: A Parenting Guide to Get Kids and Teens Internet Safe. In her work as a clinical psychologist over 25 years, she sees the impacts of digital injury and how to treat and prevent it. Her research and teaching as adjunct faculty at CSUCI complement her feet-on-the-ground practical skill set.
Amanda Kramer, Sports Director from the Special Olympics of Northern California, joined us for a virtual and in-person event on campus. Visit the Special Olympics of Northern California website for more information, entrance forms, and even more participation opportunities.

Neuroscience is Rewriting the Story of Parenting Author Chelsea Conaboy will be speaking with us not just as a researcher but also as a parent to a child with autism. She will share the experiences that led to her writing Mother Brain. "For so many of us, maternal instinct doesn’t show up, at least not in the ways we expected it to." Our brains go through a previously undiscussed journey that Chelsea will illuminate in this fascinating talk. What is the impact of these shifts and what does it mean for our individual experiences—as caregivers to our particular children—and for the policies and programs that support families?
Join us for an online discussion with the author hosted by Jay Huston, Stanbridge Head of High School, including time for reflection and Q&A. |
