Stanbridge Student Government
每年, students from middle school and high school elect peers to serve on Stanbridge's Student Government. These representatives gain valuable leadership and organization skills by working with faculty advisors to give input on overall school progress, help organize schoolwide projects and events, and disseminate information to their fellow students. Previous accomplishments of Stanbridge Student Government teams include instituting a schoolwide recycling program, launching the Box Tops for Education fundraising program on campus, and raising funds to install a new, eco-friendly water fountain for the school. Student Government members also serve as "ambassadors" for visiting students who are applying to Stanbridge. The traditional offices of Student Government—President, 副总统, 秘书, and Treasurer—are held by high school upperclassmen. Elections for the upcoming academic year are held in May.

Through our student-centered program, Stanbridge makes every student feel like a star—a philosophy that is directly reflected in our Expected Schoolwide Learning Results (ESLRs) of Social; Team; 学者; Responsibility. Stanbridge seeks to make each and every student a STAR—a student who is socially competent, who understands teamwork, who challenges him/herself academically, and who assumes greater responsibility throughout his or her years at the school. These key attributes of the program ensure that students work well at Stanbridge and are prepared for future success outside the classroom and in their lives beyond the school. The STAR Team uses the ESLR principles as a guide, and consists of students who exemplify what it means to be a model Stanbridge student. Both Junior (Kindergarten-sixth grade) and Senior (grades 7-12) STARs aspire to be helpful role models for their peers 和 community-at-large. Students are usually recommended for membership by their teachers based on a consistent history of positive behavior, but they can also self-nominate. Each STAR team even elects their own student officers.
In addition to helping out around school and being a good friend to new students, the entire STAR Team also leads a variety of community service initiatives throughout the year, including food drives for Thanksgiving to benefit St. Anthony's in San Francisco, toiletry drives to benefit Samaritan House in San Mateo, delivering Veteran's Day cards to the San Francisco VA Hospital, recycling awareness activities, beach cleanup days in Half Moon Bay, 和更多的. Read below for additional community service opportunities that Stanbridge students are involved in.
